The NGO Forum on Women
The NGO Forum on Women, held in Hairou, China last September, brought together more than 20,000 women from 170 countries to discuss progress toward the goals of Equality, Development and Peace first set out at the UN World Conference on Women in 1975.I was lucky enough to attend as part of a delegation from the North Carolina Council on Women, and I described my experience in an article for Currents, The Chronicle's monthly magazine.
